Shifting Our Focus for the 11th Year of
Hope in Grace

Dear Friends,

Today, April 1, 2020, is the 12 year anniversary of what we refer to as “Triplet Day” – the day we found out we were bringing three uniquely amazing babies into this world. If you’re a walker or a runner, we’d love it if you considered running your route today in memory of Grace.

And as always, we thank you for your previous support of Hope in Grace. We are so grateful for your contribution. Because of your donation, Hope in Grace has raised over $250,000 to support pediatric cardiology research and to reward excellence in children’s intensive care nursing over the last decade. We feel so fortunate to be a part of a community that has supported Hope in Grace and our mission to raise awareness and funding for the heart warriors of our future.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to shift our focus while looking for ways to keep the spirit of our mission going. After thoughtful consideration and prayer, we came to the decision to cancel our run/walk event originally scheduled for May 16, 2020, following the lead of all University of Minnesota events that have also been cancelled through the end of May.

Additionally, with so many of our past sponsors and local businesses closed or experiencing a drastic decrease in revenue during this period of uncertainty, we don’t feel it is right to ask them to commit their time and resources right now.

By the same token, as passionate as we are about our cause, we do not feel right about asking you to donate to Hope in Grace with so many other worthy causes in our communities dedicated to fighting this pandemic that need our help more urgently. If you find yourself in the position to give this season, please consider donating to one of the following organizations that can most immediately meet the needs in our community:

Second Harvest is currently funding emergency food boxes in response to the pandemic.

Heart to Heart International has ready-made “hygiene kits” that are being donated and delivered to those who need them in the Twin Cities and around the globe.

CDC Foundation is having a drive to help distribute dollars where needed, mostly in the form of supplies, lab kits, emergency staff training, etc.

We are praying for health for you and your family, our community and our world. Stay home and stay healthy, friends.

With Grateful Hearts,

Tony & Jaclyn Doffin
